Plant Maintenance Mechanical Fitter

Location: Lincoln, United Kingdom; onsite maintenance across Ruston Works and Teal Park.

What you will do

• Diagnose complex mechanical faults and perform emergency repairs on CNC machines, lathes, mills, and related production machinery.
• Complete planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and production downtime.
• Service equipment through cleaning, lubrication, alignment, adjustment, and replacement of defective components.
• Install, level, align, and commission new or relocated machinery in line with engineering and site safety requirements.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems using appropriate tools, lifting equipment, and diagnostic techniques.
• Keep accurate maintenance records, follow Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, and support apprentices and less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

• Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship, such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, with significant post-apprenticeship experience.
• Strong experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Fitter in an industrial, manufacturing, or plant maintenance environment.
• Hands-on experience diagnosing, fault-finding, and repairing complex industrial or production machinery with limited supervision.
• Practical knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance, mechanical alignment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machinery installation or relocation.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, lifting, and hoisting equipment safely in an industrial environment.
• Methodical problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to guide apprentices and less experienced colleagues.
