Mechanical Engineer, Systems & Automation (Industrial Automation)

What you will do

• Design, program, integrate, and commission automation and control systems for gas-engineering projects from early design through operational handover.
• Develop automation solutions for manufacturing lines, including robotics, machine vision, material handling, and smart manufacturing technologies.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and upgrade in-house and third-party equipment to improve safety, reliability, productivity, and operator experience.
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, electrical, production, and maintenance teams to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
• Prepare control narratives, functional descriptions, automation drawings, test procedures, and operating documentation, and train end users when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, Mechatronic, Computer, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or industrial equipment integration and commissioning.
• Practical experience with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, industrial networks, field instrumentation, and communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, or OPC UA.
• Experience with robotics, machine vision, automated manufacturing equipment, or process plants involving gases or industrial utilities.
• Fluent Spanish and English, with strong communication, problem-solving, and hands-on commissioning skills.

Nice to have

• Experience programming ABB and/or KUKA industrial robots.
