Embedded Software Engineer (SoC)

Location: Madrid, Spain

Expected base pay: €44,900–€59,800 per year, plus eligibility for bonus and equity plans.

What you will do

• Create accurate and efficient functional models for System-on-Chip designs.
• Build virtual platforms and realistic simulation environments to accelerate development before physical silicon is available.
• Collaborate with software teams to gather inputs for early-stage development.
• Analyze simulation results to diagnose and resolve firmware issues.
• Promote the adoption of virtual platforms and improve collaboration across the company.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Alternatively, a Master’s degree or PhD in a related field with 2–3 years of experience.
• Working knowledge of Python and C++.
• Fundamental understanding of firmware and software architecture.
• Experience or strong knowledge of computer architecture, particularly ARM and/or RISC-V, is highly valued.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to learn new technologies and tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with simulator technologies such as Virtualizer, Simics, QEMU, or gem5.
