Firmware Engineer (Embedded Systems)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain firmware for hirify.global products and embedded systems.
• Implement product features including feedback interfaces, communication protocols, and motion-control algorithms.
• Participate in new product development and collaborate with hardware engineers.
• Develop and maintain continuous integration and development libraries.
• Review and improve product manuals, datasheets, architecture documentation, and detailed design documentation.
• Test and debug firmware against product specifications and support customer installations when required.

Requirements

• Degree, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 4 years of professional experience.
• Proficiency in C for resource-constrained embedded environments and experience with software design and maintainability.
• Experience with bare-metal microprocessor development under real-time constraints.
• Knowledge of MCU peripherals including I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, UART, and GPIO.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of C++ and/or Python, object-oriented programming, RTOS, and software testing procedures.
• Experience with hardware board bring-up, system debugging, code optimization, and laboratory instruments.
• Knowledge of FSoE, MISRA, motion control, and CANopen.
