Operator (Opto-Mechanical Assembly)

What you will do

• Receive, inspect, clean, and prepare production kits and components against work-order requirements.
• Assemble and integrate opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical components, subsystems, and final systems.
• Perform first-level mechanical and optical alignment, calibration, and basic functional testing.
• Complete work orders, build history documents, and production records to maintain traceability.
• Apply ESD, optics-handling, cleaning, packing, and manufacturing procedures throughout production.
• Carry out burn-in, vacuum baking, leak testing, and purging processes as required.

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12 / Matric.
• Relevant informal or workplace-based technical training.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing or assembly.
• Ability to interpret technical and manufacturing drawings.
• Knowledge of opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly, optics handling, ESD control, alignment, calibration, and functional testing.
• Experience with precision product assembly, optics handling, or ESD-controlled environments is advantageous.
