Pipeline 2D Technical Director (Animation)

What you will do

• Act as the primary technical resource for image and 2D pipeline questions across the animation studio.
• Support editorial and story teams with panel ingest, exports, work tracking, playlists, and animation cuts.
• Integrate and improve third-party review tools for an accessible studio-wide review workflow.
• Configure burn-ins, slates, HUDs, transcoding, automation, and OCIO-based colour workflows.
• Design and implement new workflows and tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve creative output.
• Represent story and editorial in workflow decisions and resolve technical challenges with artists, production teams, and vendors.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of image manipulation and data orchestration for VFX or feature animation, supported by production experience.
• Strong command of Avid, OpenRV, AAF, XML, and OTIO.
• Professional experience with Python and Qt.
• Knowledge of production management tools, OCIO, and colour pipelines.
• Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
• Experience working with internal teams and external vendors, with a strong understanding of teamwork.

Nice to have

• Experience with FLIX, C++, or AI for image processing.
• Passion for storytelling, animation, and games.
