Technical Sound Designer (Gamedev)

Location: Studio-based in San Mateo, California with flexible working support.

Salary: $30.47 - $56.35 Hourly

What you will do

• Develop real-time audio-control scripting and implement audio assets.
• Collaborate with audio programmers and sound designers to build systems aligned with creative vision and gameplay needs.
• Create high-quality interactive and linear sound effects.
• Apply studio and departmental best practices for technical audio workflows and systems.
• Inspire teamwork and collaboration within and outside the Audio Department.

Requirements

• Minimum three years of experience in game audio development.
• Experience shipping at least one major title.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Lua, Python, or visual scripting (Blueprint).
• Strong understanding of PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC audio functionality and limitations.
• Experience with major digital audio workstations (DAWs) and solid knowledge of audio engineering.
• Must be based in or able to relocate to San Mateo, California.

Nice to have

• Experience in C++ or C#.
• Hands-on experience with FPS or multiplayer game development.
