TL;DR
Operations Supervisor - A320 (2nd Shift) (Aerospace Manufacturing): Supervising aircraft manufacturing activities, production progress, employee management, tooling, safety, and coordination across multifunctional teams with an accent on A320 assembly, quality, resource planning, and continuous improvement. Focus on resolving manufacturing issues, maintaining delivery schedules, developing production personnel, and supporting operational leadership on the second shift.

Location: On-site in Mobile Area, Alabama, United States; 2nd shift

hirify.global manufactures commercial aircraft at its U.S. facility in Mobile, including A320 Family and A220 aircraft.

What you will do

  • Lead and oversee manufacturing activities within the assigned station and monitor aircraft progress through production.
  • Manage assigned employees, including staffing, performance management, attendance, development, and recognition.
  • Coordinate station activities with production, quality, procurement, logistics, management, and other support functions.
  • Manage tools, jigs, materials, documentation, work packages, and resource plans to support safe and on-time delivery.
  • Identify and resolve manufacturing issues while supporting quality gates, KPIs, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as deputy for the Business Unit Leader and serve as an escalation point during second-shift and off-shift operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least four years of experience in aviation, manufacturing engineering, assembly processes, production methods, or equivalent work.
  • Knowledge of quality and logistics requirements in aviation manufacturing, quality management systems, and industry safety practices.
  • Effective spoken and written English communication skills for a multicultural and multifunctional environment.
  • Ability to plan, organize, make complex operational decisions, and manage resources, costs, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Ability to work on-site in Mobile, travel domestically and internationally, and use Microsoft Office; SAP, MES, and HMS experience is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Two to five years of leadership experience in aviation.
  • Experience in a complex, growing, dynamic environment with matrixed reporting.
  • Experience with SAP, MES, HMS, AOS improvement activities, PPC, SQCDP boards, and practical problem-solving processes.
