Strategic Finance Lead (AI Compute)

Location: San Francisco, hybrid with in-person attendance required 2–3 days per week

Salary: $190,000–$240,000 annually plus equity. USD salary ranges apply only to U.S.-based positions.

What you will do

• Lead budgeting, monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning for GPU compute spend.
• Build detailed bottom-up financial models covering GPU capacity, cost drivers, investment scenarios, and fleet utilization.
• Analyze GPU vendor contracts, pricing structures, committed-versus-consumed spend, and optimization opportunities.
• Own the compute capacity plan and the source of truth for utilization, vendor, cluster, and capacity data.
• Develop token-cost curves and translate marginal and fully loaded serving costs into internal and external pricing.
• Partner with inference and infrastructure engineering to evaluate workload scaling, capacity deployment, and in-house inference and training ROI.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in strategic finance, infrastructure investment, private equity, growth equity, consulting, or investment banking.
• Experience with cloud or GPU infrastructure financial management and major cloud service providers or neoclouds.
• Direct experience with reserved capacity, savings plans, committed-use discounts, and GPU procurement.
• Deep expertise in GPU vendor economics, contract structures, pricing models, and chip architecture economics.
• Background in AI, ML, or high-performance, large-scale computing infrastructure, including data centers and cloud service providers.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, financial modeling, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
