Senior Manager Maintenance & Facilities (Life Sciences)

Location: On-site in West Sacramento, California, United States. Travel of approximately 10–15% to US manufacturing sites and supplier locations may be required.

Annual salary: $150,000–$165,000, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a high-performing maintenance organization through coaching, talent development, succession planning, and performance management.
• Improve equipment reliability and uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance, RCA, FMEA, RCM, predictive analytics, and condition monitoring.
• Oversee facilities operations, including HVAC, utilities, plumbing, compressed air, chilled water, building infrastructure, and office facilities.
• Drive TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Reliability Excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce losses and increase manufacturing capacity.
• Develop operating budgets and multi-year capital investment plans while managing labor, contractors, service agreements, inventory, and capital expenditures.
• Lead sustainability and energy optimization initiatives and maintain compliance and inspection readiness across maintenance and facilities activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of progressive leadership experience in maintenance, engineering, or operations, preferably in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, diagnostics, or life sciences environment.
• Strong knowledge of TPM, reliability engineering, preventive and predictive maintenance, RCA, and CMMS/EAM systems such as SAP PM, Maximo, Fiix, or Infor.
• Experience managing maintenance budgets, capital projects, contractors, and external service providers.
• Strong understanding of GMP regulations, FDA requirements, quality systems, and regulated manufacturing environments.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or Business Administration.
• CMRP, CRE, or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Knowledge of digital maintenance technologies and Industry 4.0 applications.
