Senior Facilities Manager (Life Sciences)

Location: Site-based in South Plainfield, New Jersey, United States; Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM. Occasional international travel may be required, up to 10%.

Salary: $138,000–$172,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead facilities strategy and daily operations across lab, office, utility, building infrastructure, security, maintenance, space planning, and workplace services.
• Oversee facility infrastructure, including electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, utilities, fire and life-safety systems, environmental systems, access control, and security.
• Manage vendors, contractors, landlords, service providers, maintenance programs, inspections, testing, emergency response, and corrective actions.
• Plan and deliver renovations, moves, expansions, infrastructure upgrades, capital projects, and business continuity activities.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, capital plans, repair and maintenance spending, vendor costs, and project financials.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate facilities personnel while improving standard operating procedures, preventive maintenance, safety, and service standards.

Requirements

• 10–12+ years of progressive facilities management experience, including leadership in office, laboratory, manufacturing, life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or similarly regulated environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, business, construction management, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, critical building infrastructure, preventive maintenance, building automation, access control, and facilities compliance; GMP/GLP experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, building codes, life-safety requirements, environmental and safety practices, and quality or regulatory requirements.
• Experience with property and real estate management, landlord relationships, vendor contracts, construction projects, and facilities service providers preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, decision-making, computer systems, building management system, access control, CMMS, and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

• OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification, CFM, PMP, or related facilities certification.
• Experience managing corporate property, leasing, construction, engineering, utilities, space planning, and property operations.
