Supplier Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Penang, Malaysia; full-time, onsite role.

What you will do

• Conduct supplier assessments, audits, qualifications, source inspections, and FAIR follow-up for customized parts.
• Define supplier quality control requirements and support supplier selection through quality-system evaluations.
• Review incoming material rejections with IQC, Engineering, Production, and other internal teams, determining dispositions and supplier feedback.
• Issue SCARs for supplier non-conformances and drive root cause and corrective actions using 8D, 5-Whys, FMEA, and SPC.
• Lead improvement projects for the top three supplier performers and high-value MRB lots, while monitoring PPM, defect rates, delivery quality, and response times.
• Maintain audit, NCR, SCAR, and process-validation records; report weekly and monthly KPIs and support customer or third-party audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline with QA/QC experience.
• Technical knowledge of sheet-metal parts and machining, with experience handling Power Box or VAA-related assembly projects.
• Experience managing incoming, supplier, internal, and customer-related quality issues.
• Good communication in Mandarin, English, and Malay.
• Detail-oriented, able to work with minimal supervision, and capable of driving team members toward goals.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS 9100, IATF 16949, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and other applicable industry standards.
