Product Development Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Penang, Malaysia; onsite

Develops semiconductor products through design, validation, manufacturing, and mass production.

What you will do

• Collaborate with design, validation, and manufacturing teams to define product requirements and specifications.
• Perform silicon validation and characterization by creating test plans, analyzing data, and debugging issues.
• Design and develop test hardware and software for product bring-up, characterization, and production testing.
• Support products from concept through mass production, including yield improvement and failure analysis.
• Document designs, test procedures, and results, and improve product development processes.
• Track industry trends and emerging technologies in semiconductor product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in product development, silicon validation, or test engineering in the semiconductor industry.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor physics and digital and analog circuit design principles.
• Experience with silicon validation, characterization, and debugging techniques.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or Perl for test automation and data analysis.
• Ability to use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers, and work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and yield analysis.
