Airbus UpNext Spain - Control & Simulation Engineer (m/f)

hirify.global develops demonstrators to evaluate, mature, and validate new aerospace products and services, including technologies for aircraft electrification.

What you will do

• Adapt baseline control software and Control & Monitoring laws for real and simulated prototype system-under-test configurations.
• Develop, compile, and integrate adaptation models, real-time wrappers, and interface layers for virtual and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing.
• Host and integrate Airbus real-time simulation platforms and process live output data to control test equipment and stimulate high-voltage systems.
• Design automated safety protocols, hardware interlocks, and cascading Emergency Shutdown Strategies for system, test bench, facility, environmental, and human safety.
• Support HARA and HAZOPS risk analysis and contribute to operational procedures and safety compliance documentation.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in control systems engineering, control software adaptation, real-time simulation, and HIL integration in aerospace, automotive, or industrial electrical power testing.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Control, Electrical, Systems, Telecommunications Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Strong expertise in MATLAB, Simulink, NI LabVIEW, NI VeriStand, control-law tuning, state-space modelling, real-time code generation, and model adaptation.
• Experience designing multi-layer Emergency Shutdown Strategies based on safety requirements from HARA or HAZOPS analysis.
• Understanding of high-voltage batteries, power converters, electrical power distribution systems, industrial fieldbuses, and control signals.
• Fluent English is mandatory.
