TL;DR

Instrument Functional Engineer (Early Career) (Aerospace): Supporting functional avionics activities for satellite platforms and instruments in multidisciplinary space engineering teams with an accent on instrument interfaces, operational procedure validation, and software development support. Focus on coordinating AIT test-system definition and integration, supporting in-orbit commissioning, investigating anomalies, and preparing technical documentation and supplier reviews.

Location: Getafe Area, Madrid, Spain; hybrid working model when possible

What you will do

Manage technical aspects of functional avionics activities, including instrument interfaces and operational procedure testing and validation.
Support instrument software development and follow up on subcontracted equipment development.
Coordinate with the AIT team on test-system definitions, system integration, test preparation, and report reviews.
Support satellite operations and maintain user manuals during In-Orbit Commissioning.
Assist quality teams with anomaly investigations and collaborate with electrical, system, MTP, and other engineering disciplines.
Prepare technical documentation and presentations, support project technical reviews, and lead supplier reviews.

Requirements

Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Early-career profile with exposure to space systems or functional avionics.
Knowledge of functional avionics disciplines such as AOCS, software, databases, functional buses, or operations.
Knowledge of instrument interfaces and software development support.
Advanced written and spoken English and Spanish are required.
Adaptability, teamwork, and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Experience with active antennas, space missions, or satellites.
