D&I Program Manager (Defense & Intelligence)

Location: Remote from the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, the UK, or Slovenia. If located near an office, work from that office 3 days per week.

Salary: €71,916–€89,916 gross annually, with potential commission, bonuses, and equity.

Planet designs, builds, and operates a large constellation of imaging satellites and provides cloud-based geospatial data products for commercial, environmental, governmental, and humanitarian applications.

What you will do

• Scale governmental customer adoption of Planet’s platform and data products.
• Lead technical proposals for defense and intelligence customers by gathering inputs, articulating value, and aligning solutions with mission needs.
• Define project scope, objectives, success metrics, schedules, budgets, and deliverables with internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate Professional Services Engineering, PreSales, Product Management, and other cross-functional teams to deliver platform and data solutions.
• Manage subcontractor contracts, assignments, deliverables, budgets, project risks, and customer updates.
• Design and improve operational processes, measure project performance and customer satisfaction, and increase delivery scalability.

Requirements

• 6+ years of project management experience, including proposal development for government or defense-sector customers.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience preparing and contributing to technical proposals.
• Experience working with or as part of the Defense and Intelligence community.
• Ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects in technical or product development environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, prioritization, adaptability, and continuous improvement skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing proposals for federal customers.
• Understanding of platform development, platform integrations, or geospatial data-as-a-service offerings.
• Experience with remote sensing, Earth observation data, or imaging technologies.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams and initiating new improvement programs.
