TL;DR
Senior Missions Manager, Constellation Services (Satellite Constellations): Building, launching, and operating Pelican satellite constellations for Planet and strategic EMEA customers with an accent on cross-company program leadership, satellite operations, and customer-aligned mission delivery. Focus on managing program risk, coordinating engineering and operations teams, balancing mission portfolios, and ensuring healthy, productive satellites in orbit.

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid role requiring work from the Berlin office 3 days per week. Travel within Europe and to California 2–3 times per year is required, with high availability during the start of the California workday.

Salary: €86,600–€108,300 gross annual salary, with potential discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or equity.

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates a large constellation of imaging satellites and delivers satellite imagery through a cloud-based data platform.

What you will do

  • Own overall program success for Pelican constellation services programs valued at more than €100 million.
  • Lead the planning, launch, and operation of satellite constellations for hirify.global and strategic EMEA customers.
  • Build, manage, and hire a core cross-functional program team spanning engineering, software, product, sales, finance, and operations.
  • Coordinate with Mission Directors, Space Systems, Engineering Program Managers, Technical Product Managers, and corporate functions to align schedules, resources, requirements, and roadmaps.
  • Manage program-level risks across engineering, launch, and operations while removing blockers and balancing risks across program elements.
  • Represent the program to senior leadership, customers, partners, and the press as needed.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in space systems development, management, and/or operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; graduate coursework may be preferred.
  • Deep expertise in LEO satellite operations, satellite design, and mission success delivery.
  • Knowledge of tasking business models and remote sensing technology.
  • Strong decision-making, interpersonal, cross-functional collaboration, and risk-management skills.
  • Ability to work from the Berlin office 3 days per week, travel within Europe and to California, and maintain availability during Pacific Time working hours.

  • Experience developing, managing, or operating large satellite constellations.
  • Experience delivering major corporate initiatives through cross-departmental teams.
  • Examples of proactively managing and mitigating risk in space programs.
