Technical Program Manager, Trade Compliance

Location: Hybrid; work from the Washington, DC or Denver, CO office three days per week.

Salary: $127,000–$158,700 USD annual US national base range. Other listed ranges include $136,000–$170,000 for New York City and California and $144,500–$180,600 for San Francisco.

What you will do

• Build a scalable trade compliance framework for rapid product and software development.
• Partner with product managers and engineers to integrate compliance requirements into product roadmaps and lifecycles.
• Apply risk-based approaches to ITAR and EAR compliance while advising on technical trade-offs.
• Conduct and document export classification reviews for software, data analytics, and complex solutions.
• Design, implement, and audit technical processes governing US and non-US software development teams.
• Develop Know Your Customer and restricted-party screening workflows for OFAC, sanctions, and applicable global requirements.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of relevant software development or program management experience in SaaS, complex data lifecycles, discovery/search engines, or cloud-based content delivery.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams on cloud infrastructure, APIs, containerization, and data pipeline design.
• Practical knowledge of ITAR and EAR requirements for software, dual-use items, encryption, and satellite or geospatial data analytics.
• Experience across the product lifecycle, from concept and development through launch, deprecation, and end-of-life.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, Agile methodologies, analytical problem-solving, and technical communication.
• Access to export-controlled information is contingent on the ability to access it without additional export licensing.

• Experience with remote sensing, Earth observation data, or geospatial systems.
• Experience working with remote, worldwide teams.
