Plant Operator (Renewable Natural Gas)

Location: Marissa, Illinois, United States. On-site plant operations with occasional night shifts, weekends, and rolling 24/7 callout coverage.

Salary: $30.00–$32.00 per hour, with a bonus for eligible positions.

What you will do

• Operate and monitor the renewable natural gas plant, including blowers, gas pretreatment, chillers, CO2 and nitrogen removal, oxygen removal, and compression equipment.
• Adjust and tune plant systems to maximize production, efficiency, product quality, and uptime.
• Perform equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, outages, and overhauls.
• Maintain production records, equipment operating hours, service schedules, inventory, and site cleanliness.
• Coordinate maintenance with operators, management, and third-party vendors, and respond to outages and callouts.
• Support safe work practices, environmental compliance, LOTO and JHA reviews, spill response, and contractor safety.

Requirements

• Experience with landfill gas, gas compression, or gas treatment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose issues using SCADA and manuals.
• Mechanical skills and working knowledge of pressure, vacuum, and flow.
• Experience with pumps, blowers, air compressors, or related gas plant equipment.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office and SCADA.
• Current and valid unrestricted driver's license; ability to work 40–50 hours per week, including occasional nights, weekends, and rolling callout coverage.

• Basic electrical knowledge.
• Heavy equipment, gas turbine, or gas compressor operations and maintenance experience.
• Fabrication and basic process knowledge.
