WGL - Plant Maintenance Technician I

Location: VA - Ravensworth, United States; onsite industrial plant work

Salary: $33.14 per hour under the Collective Bargaining Agreement

hirify.global provides natural gas service to homes and businesses across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial plant equipment supporting natural gas delivery.
• Maintain compressors, pumps, motors, generators, valves, regulators, heaters, safety systems, and SCADA equipment.
• Inspect natural gas, propane, steam, air, and storage systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, inspections, and electronic work-order documentation.
• Support gate stations, regulator stations, and other Gas Supply Operations facilities.
• Participate in shift assignments and an on-call rotation for operations and emergency response.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 months of hands-on mechanical or technical experience.
• Valid driver's license and intermediate computer skills.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in industrial plant environments and all weather conditions.
• Ability to complete required training, Operator Qualifications, and pre-employment assessments.
• Ability to obtain a Maryland 4th Grade Stationary Engineer License within 18 months and pass the Plant Operator I qualification test within 24 months.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
• Experience with pumps, compressors, boilers, rotating equipment, HVAC, automotive, diesel, marine, or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Experience in building maintenance, facility operations, plumbing, pipefitting, or similar skilled trades.
