Plant Operator - Renewable Power (Old Dominion)

Location: Henrico, Virginia, United States; Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts, rotating on-call duty, overtime, and weekend availability.

Salary: $37.00–$40.00 per hour, with a bonus for eligible positions.

What you will do

• Operate, monitor, and maintain Caterpillar 3500 series reciprocating gas engines and auxiliary equipment.
• Inspect meters, gas chromatographs, fluid levels, pressures, temperatures, and equipment condition to prevent failures.
• Perform repairs, oil and filter changes, valve, blower, compressor, and other equipment maintenance.
• Respond to equipment callouts, troubleshoot failures, and coordinate additional support when needed.
• Maintain production records, service schedules, outage logs, inventory, and plant cleanliness.
• Ensure safe work practices, regulatory compliance, environmental compliance, and clear communication with area managers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Required experience operating and maintaining diesel or large reciprocating engines.
• Strong mechanical skills and general troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with pumps, blowers, or air compressors; working knowledge of pressure, vacuum, and flow.
• Recordkeeping, written communication, computer, and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools, operate an ATV, lift 10–50 pounds, and work on irregular surfaces with occasional climbing, kneeling, stooping, or crouching.
