Senior Aircraft Avionics Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Columbus, Mississippi, United States; onsite work is required 98% of the time.

What you will do

• Assemble, install, repair, and replace aircraft electrical and electronic components and systems.
• Perform functional checks of avionics components during aircraft manufacture, maintenance, and refurbishment.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, diagrams, vendor manuals, and service manuals to determine dimensions, alignment, tolerances, and other specifications.
• Use standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices, and test equipment.
• Coordinate with the assigned lead regarding schedules, priorities, parts, supplies, tools, and work instructions.
• Ensure completed work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company specifications.

Requirements

• At least six years of experience working on aircraft avionics, preferably rotorcraft.
• Ability to read and interpret aircraft blueprints, sketches, and diagrams and apply standard shop practices.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
• Ability to work around moving aircraft, chemicals, fumes, uneven surfaces, and production-floor safety hazards.
• Ability to lift and carry tools, drawings, and electronic equipment weighing up to 60 pounds and travel independently at short notice.

Nice to have

• Current A&P license.
• Experience with rotorcraft avionics.
