Logistics Systems Specialist (Automation)

Location: Richmond, United States. Hybrid work with an assigned primary workplace and an average of 3 days per week in the office. The role follows a 12-hour 2-2-3 shift pattern; minimal travel may be required. No relocation will be provided.

Salary: $84,674–$127,010 per year.

What you will do

• Operate automated logistics equipment, including conveyors, elevators, shuttle cars, and robots, to support production plans and product quality.
• Manage warehouse software and automation systems, including WMS, SAP, COMBI, AGV, AL, ETTRIC, and TGW.
• Monitor warehouse processes, material integrity, storage conditions, and delivery to production areas.
• Optimize material flow, reroute operations, and apply contingency plans to reduce the impact of equipment failures.
• Coordinate predictive, preventive, corrective, and planned maintenance with technicians.
• Lead continuous improvement, equipment commissioning, standardization, and warehouse maintenance projects.

Requirements

• Experience managing automated equipment and logistics software, particularly WMS and SAP.
• Experience in engineering, automation, maintenance, or software projects.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate and lead maintenance activities for logistics equipment.
• Ability to work a 12-hour 2-2-3 shift pattern.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, automation, mechatronics, or a related technical field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, A3, or 5-Why problem-solving tools.
• Experience in consumer goods, automotive, plastics, electronics, or advanced manufacturing.
• Experience participating in SAT and FAT of equipment.
• Initiative in improving logistics operations and supporting colleagues’ learning.
