Product Manager, Rakuten Pay (Online Payment) - Pay Product Development Department, Rakuten Payment, Inc. (Secondment) (Fintech)

Location: Tokyo, Japan. The role is based at NBF Shinagawa Tower.

What you will do

• Own the full product lifecycle for hirify.global Pay Online Payment, from roadmap planning through launch and continuous improvement.
• Plan new features and services and lead requirements definition.
• Analyze merchant and partner needs using quantitative and qualitative data to propose product improvements.
• Align requirements and coordinate projects with engineering, design, sales, marketing, legal, and other stakeholders.
• Manage schedules, risks, and issues using WBS and issue-tracking sheets.
• Prepare proposals and present them to management and other key decision-makers for approval.

Requirements

• At least one year of hands-on service or product planning experience in payments, such as credit cards, e-money, QR code payments, or online payments.
• Experience driving the development planning process from requirements definition through internal approval, testing, and release.
• Project management experience using WBS and issue-tracking sheets.
• Ability to align diverse stakeholder interests through logical reasoning and relationship building.
• Leadership and persistence in driving complex initiatives to completion.
• English is used in day-to-day communication in the division.

Nice to have

• Experience managing teams and projects, including people management for approximately five members.
• Product management experience in web, IT services, or smartphone applications, including 0-to-1 or 1-to-10 product phases.
• Experience preparing approval presentations and proposal materials.
• Understanding of B2B2C models such as payment gateways, e-commerce platforms, and SaaS.
• Project management experience in agile or Scrum environments.
