Senior Manager, MedTech Surgery Japan

Location: Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Up to approximately 20% domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Co-create the regional technology strategy for MedTech Surgery and translate it into a multi-year product and platform roadmap.
• Partner with senior MedTech leaders to identify technology opportunities that improve growth, efficiency, customer experience, and patient outcomes.
• Lead the regional portfolio of products, platforms, and services, including prioritization, funding, delivery, adoption, and benefits realization.
• Operationalize AI/ML and GenAI use cases across commercial, supply chain, service, and R&D-adjacent functions.
• Develop interoperable data platforms, real-time connected-device telemetry, analytics capabilities, and privacy-by-design practices.
• Lead and develop product, engineering, data, and delivery leaders while managing technology budgets, governance, quality, cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of technology leadership experience, including direct leadership of business, engineering, data operations, or product teams.
• 6+ years of people leadership experience at scale in matrixed environments.
• Experience with product management, agile delivery, portfolio governance, business processes, and enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, or MES.
• Fluency in cloud, APIs, data platforms, analytics, AI/ML, and GenAI, with experience implementing these capabilities beyond pilot stages.
• Experience modernizing legacy environments and delivering scalable digital and AI-enabled solutions safely and compliantly.

Nice to have

• MedTech Surgery experience, including digital surgery, robotics, imaging, computer vision, or connected capital equipment.
• Experience working with clinical, commercial, and supply chain stakeholders across multiple countries.
• Experience hiring and developing technical and product talent, with strong executive presence and change leadership.
