Memory Circuit Design Engineer (CMOS): Developing full-custom and compiler-based SRAMs, caches, register files, ROMs, custom memories, and associated digital circuits for future CPU and SoC products with an accent on memory architecture, circuit innovation, and PPA optimization. Focus on designing memory bit-cells and complex periphery, simulating critical paths, analyzing variations and signal integrity, and delivering scalable low-power solutions on advanced CMOS technologies.

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work.

Annual salary: $164,470–$269,100 USD

What you will do

  • Design and develop full-custom and compiler-based SRAMs, caches, multi-ported register files, ROMs, custom memories, and associated digital circuits.
  • Perform memory circuit design, technical readiness activities, characterization, and simulations.
  • Design cache paths and custom blocks, including critical-path simulations.
  • Develop memory bit-cells, complex peripheral circuits, memory arrays, and IP.
  • Drive memory path-finding, circuit innovation, and power, performance, and area optimization.
  • Define methodologies and execute work against project schedules in collaboration with architecture, process technology, physical design, and product engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a STEM-related field with 6+ years of experience; or a relevant master’s degree with 4+ years; or a PhD with 2+ years of educational or work experience.
  • Proficiency in CMOS circuit design, memory design, and power, performance, and area trade-offs.
  • Expertise in VLSI circuits and design methodologies.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills, technical curiosity, ownership, and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience with low-power implementation techniques.
  • Familiarity with circuit and layout trade-offs for optimized design.
  • Knowledge of digital circuit design tools, design flows, dynamic simulations, variation analysis, and signal integrity analysis.
