Production Planning Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Cortland, New York, United States; full-time, on-site role.

Annual salary: $125,000–$145,000, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Manage the master production schedule and production planning activities to maximize plant resources and meet customer demand.
• Coordinate the flow of work and materials across manufacturing departments and units.
• Manage raw material, work-in-process, and finished-goods inventory while optimizing inventory health and customer fulfillment.
• Coordinate the monthly S&OP supply review and communicate capacity and staffing constraints.
• Lead supply planning strategy and analysis across multiple manufacturing sites, supporting production allocation, capacity, and cost decisions.
• Track performance against estimates and drive improvements in responsiveness, reliability, service, delivery, lead time, and inventory.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, supply chain, business, or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of production planning experience.
• Strong analytical skills, including building spreadsheet models for demand, supply, inventory, and scenario analysis.
• Ability to combine and analyze data from multiple sources and present findings clearly.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and data or visualization tools is beneficial.
• Effective communication skills.

• Demonstrated improvement in KPIs such as on-time delivery, lead time, cost, and inventory.
• Supplier development experience.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar certification.
