Solution Architect (Azure/Java)

Location: Charlotte, NC, US; hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in-office and 1 day remote. Applicants may work in or relocate to Charlotte, but relocation assistance is not available.

Starting salary: $110,000–$133,000 USD annually, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Define the future technology landscape, architecture, and roadmap for the DTFS Point of Sales system.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical designs aligned with IT and business strategy.
• Design, build, and evaluate enterprise solutions, proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and reference models.
• Monitor service-level agreements, resolve incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and prevent recurring issues.
• Collaborate with IT Product and Tech Leaders, solution architects, DBAs, infrastructure, security, and application teams.
• Support audits, compliance, governance, security, infrastructure upgrades, and DevOps adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology, or a related field; 5–7 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Java, J2EE technologies, application development, middleware, and web technologies.
• Experience implementing RESTful web services and deploying services on WebSphere, JBoss, and Tomcat.
• Deep knowledge of microservices architecture, application debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Angular, React, PostgreSQL, and the Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Information Technology.
• Prior consulting experience.
