Salary: $137,365.95–$185,848.05 annually

What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end budget planning, quarterly forecasting, close activities, leadership reporting, and other financial deliverables for assigned R&D organizations.
  • Partner with functional leaders and R&D Finance to align forecasts with business priorities, evolving strategy, resource needs, and investment decisions.
  • Analyze actuals, commitments, spending trends, variances, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Develop leadership-ready financial narratives, reports, analyses, scenarios, and business cases.
  • Support capital and operating expense execution, procure-to-pay activities, accruals, purchase order maintenance, and financial controls.
  • Improve dashboards, reporting products, data standards, processes, and tools while managing and developing Budget Management & Execution team members.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree plus 2 years, master’s degree plus 4 years, bachelor’s degree plus 6 years, associate’s degree plus 10 years, or high school diploma/GED plus 12 years of biotech/pharma business operations or financial analytics experience.
  • Experience in budget management, financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and variance or root-cause analysis.
  • Experience leading professional employees or teams, projects, programs, or financial resources.
  • Strong project and operational management, communication, relationship-building, and decision-support skills.
  • Proficiency with Tableau, Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams, advanced Excel, and Microsoft Office; experience with SAP, Ariba, and Anaplan.
  • Working knowledge of drug development and R&D portfolio, operating plan, and investment processes; experience using automation, digital tools, and AI-enabled solutions is expected.
