Specialty Pharmacy Technician Liaison

Location: Quincy, Illinois, United States; onsite support for the Pharmacy Team is required.

Salary: $24.00–$27.00 per hour

What you will do

• Build and maintain partnerships with health system clients through regular communication and needs assessment.
• Coordinate medication orders, refills, treatment plans, appointments, prior authorizations, and medication delivery or pickup.
• Verify insurance coverage and support compliance with state and federal specialty medication regulations.
• Resolve medication access, side-effect, insurance coverage, and patient service issues.
• Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, medication orders, and insurance communications.
• Perform Pharmacy Technician duties during technician absences and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, in a medical office, or within the healthcare industry.
• Willingness to obtain Illinois and Missouri State Pharmacy Technician licenses within 90 days of hire.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, customer service, and documentation skills.
• Ability to use software for prior authorization submission and documentation, perform data entry, verify information, and calculate rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies by phone.

Nice to have

• Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician certification from PTCB or ExCPT.
• Three or more years of experience in specialty pharmacy.
• Experience with prior authorizations, specialty therapies, clinical patient management software, URAC or ACHC-accredited environments, provider groups, and the 340B program.
• Knowledge of benefits investigations, REMS programs, and limited-distribution processes.
