Pharmacy Technician (Oncology)

Location: Winchester, Virginia, United States; full-time onsite, Monday–Friday

Salary: $25.00–$29.00 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare, compound, admix, label, and dispense oral and IV medications in accordance with USP, OSHA, and applicable regulations.
• Review prescription orders for patient information, allergies, authorizations, dosage calculations, and completeness before pharmacist or physician verification.
• Document dispensing, billing, patient interactions, and order fulfillment in the pharmacy management system and EHR.
• Maintain controlled-substance logs, temperature records, protocol drug logs, compliance reports, and other pharmacy documentation.
• Support prior authorizations, insurance requirements, Medicare Part B processes, and patient financial assistance programs.
• Manage inventory, quality assurance, infection control, cleaning, maintenance, audits, and regulatory readiness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of pharmacy experience.
• Virginia State Pharmacy Technician License required.
• Manual dexterity, fine motor skills, accurate measurement reading, and the ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work around patients, medicinal preparations, toxic substances, and chemotherapeutic agents.
