Study Engineer – SAR System and Performance (d/f/m) (SAR)

Location: Immenstaad am Bodensee, Germany; work is based at the Airbus site with mobile working and flexible working arrangements where possible.

What you will do

• Lead and execute feasibility studies for future Synthetic Aperture Radar missions, systems, and instruments.
• Conceptually design SAR systems and instruments while deriving customer, mission, and subsystem requirements.
• Design SAR operating modes, including innovative MAPS and F-SCAN modes based on digital beamforming.
• Conduct SAR performance analyses and model system performance.
• Coordinate system and interface engineering across electrical, thermal, and mechanical disciplines.
• Plan and lead study teams, manage subcontractors, and represent customer interests in technical requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering, mathematics, physics, or a comparable discipline.
• Sound experience with radar and a strong understanding of SAR signal theory.
• Ability to conceptually create complex SAR systems.
• Proficiency in MATLAB or comparable simulation software.
• Fluent German and very good English skills are required.
• Full-time availability for the permanent position based in Immenstaad am Bodensee.
