System Safety Engineer (d/f/m) (Aerospace)

Location: Manching, Germany; on-site role

What you will do

• Lead Functional Hazard Assessments and System Safety Assessments for military aircraft and systems through certification.
• Conduct risk analyses in line with applicable guidance and standards, including work supporting Permit to Fly and Type Certificate activities.
• Perform Particular Risk, Zonal Safety, and Common Mode Analyses.
• Develop and manage safety requirements, procedures, limitations, and safety evidence from tests, simulations, and analyses.
• Influence aircraft and systems architecture according to required safety and integrity levels.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, design, airworthiness authorities, industrial partners, customers, and suppliers, including review of supplier safety and reliability data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physical Science, or a similar discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in a related engineering field.
• Knowledge of aircraft systems and experience in System Safety Assessment, or System Engineering with interfaces to safety assessment, airworthiness, or certification.
• Experience with safety tools such as Isograph FaultTree+ or Reliability Workbench.
• Very good English language skills are required.
• Eligibility for security clearance by the recognized authorities is required.
