Senior Manager, Supplier Quality (Aerospace)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; on-site. Travel to manufacturing locations and supplier sites domestically and internationally may be required, up to approximately 20% of the time.

What you will do

• Lead the supplier quality team responsible for supplier qualification, surveillance, performance management, and corrective actions.
• Set supplier-quality priorities, allocate resources, and translate organizational objectives into staffing and execution plans.
• Develop quality leaders and engineering personnel through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and technical mentorship.
• Oversee supplier audits, source inspections, risk assessments, performance reviews, qualification activities, and approved-supplier status.
• Direct SCARs, supplier recovery efforts, root-cause investigations, hardware dispositions, and capability-improvement plans.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program teams to improve supplier capability, product quality, delivery performance, and supply-base resilience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience, including 2–5 years of leadership or people-management experience.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality-management systems and aerospace and defense supplier-quality requirements.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone analysis, supplier qualification, supplier development, PPAP, and First Article Inspection including AS9102.
• Understanding of ITAR, EAR, DFARS, and other aerospace and defense supplier requirements.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP systems, plus strong cross-functional, executive communication, and supplier relationship-management skills.

Nice to have

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Manager, or equivalent quality certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Supplier-quality leadership experience in aerospace, defense, autonomy, robotics, or advanced manufacturing.
• Experience with complex electromechanical, electronic, precision-machined, composite, or avionics hardware.
