Senior Buyer (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Location: Chandler, Arizona, United States; employees must reside within commuting distance and be available for on-site work. The first 90 days require full-time on-site attendance, followed by a possible hybrid schedule of three on-site days and two remote days, subject to approval and operational needs. Core coverage is 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Travel is less than 10%, primarily to company facilities or supplier locations.

Salary: $73,100–$135,700 per year.

What you will do

• Execute purchase orders and blanket purchase orders for direct materials while maintaining accurate pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, and terms.
• Interpret ERP/MRP demand signals, monitor supplier acknowledgments, and expedite or reschedule materials to prevent production disruptions.
• Resolve shortages, supplier delivery issues, discrepancies, and material availability concerns with planning, production, engineering, quality, and sourcing teams.
• Purchase materials to engineering specifications and drawings, communicating quality codes, technical requirements, and customer flow-down requirements.
• Monitor supplier scorecards, corrective actions, delivery performance, risks, and recovery plans.
• Analyze purchasing data in Excel and ERP/MRP reports and support continuous improvement, onboarding, and supplier business reviews.

Requirements

• At least three years of purchasing experience in manufacturing or production, including direct-material procurement and purchase-order execution.
• At least three years of experience working with an ERP/MRP purchasing environment.
• Experience managing supplier delivery issues, material shortages, competing production priorities, and purchasing documentation.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings and communicate supplier quality requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel, including pivot tables and purchasing-data analysis.
• U.S. citizenship is required for employment due to U.S. Government contract requirements; export-control authorization may also apply.

Nice to have

• Aerospace and defense purchasing experience, including FAR/DFARS, government procurement compliance, cost or price justification, and supplier flow-down requirements.
• Experience with technically complex commodities, supplier onboarding, scorecards, corrective actions, and supplier-risk mitigation.
• Oracle ERP experience or participation in an ERP implementation or transition.
• Lean, Six Sigma, APICS, CPSM, CPM, or comparable procurement experience or certification.
