Manager, Purchasing and Materials

Location: On-site in Torrance, California, United States

Salary: $115,000–$135,000 per year, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and coach the Purchasing and Materials team.
• Manage upstream material flow, raw and OEM inventory, supplier delivery performance, and off-site warehousing.
• Develop strategic plans for supplier performance, customer on-time delivery, inventory management, and working capital productivity.
• Establish and continuously improve purchasing, planning, inventory control, cycle count, and physical inventory processes.
• Build supplier partnerships, mitigate supply chain risks, and manage quality, delivery, cost, and service objectives.
• Develop KPI reporting and partner cross-functionally on supply chain performance, compliance, safety, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of leadership experience in purchasing, materials, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience leading, developing, and motivating high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, manufacturing operations, inventory management, supplier performance, and KPI-driven performance management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, communication, decision-making, and cross-functional influencing skills, with experience in structured problem-solving and Lean or hirify.global Business System methodologies.

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
