Materials Manager (Automotive)

What you will do

• Lead material planning, MRP parameters, bill of materials maintenance, inventory management, and production planning activities.
• Manage supplier performance, corrective actions, delivery quality, packaging compliance, and supplier relationships.
• Oversee inbound and outbound transportation, customer schedules, receiving, shipping, storage, and material movement.
• Lead supervisors, material handlers, and assigned personnel through coaching, performance management, training, and goal setting.
• Track department KPIs, production downtime, freight and inventory costs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with BOS, IATF, company, customer, regulatory, and material-handling safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
• Previous experience leading supervisors and hourly employees.
• Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, inventory management, production planning, and logistics operations.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing and familiarity with IATF 16949 requirements preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and Microsoft Office skills.
