Closing Operations Associate (Real Estate)

Location: Remote within the United States; employees may live in any of the 50 states, with limited exceptions.

Salary: $25.00–$37.40 per hour in California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC; $23.70–$35.50 per hour in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia. Equity awards may also be available.

What you will do

• Provide customer service by phone, email, SMS, and chat throughout the closing process.
• Manage purchase and refinance transaction pipelines to support accurate and timely closings.
• Build relationships with brokerages and agents and participate in client meetings when needed.
• Review multi-state purchase contracts and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual deadlines.
• Identify title issues, explain requirements, and guide transaction parties through resolution.
• Calculate closing fees, prepare disbursements, balance Closing Disclosures, and assemble loan and closing document packages.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in closing operations, real estate transactions, mortgage operations, or a related high-volume documentation environment.
• Experience with title and escrow closing, ideally involving purchase transactions across multiple states.
• Strong customer service, communication, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines, multiple transactions, county and state requirements, and performance standards.
• Comfort using multiple technology and workflow tools for high-volume phone and email communication.
• Willingness to obtain state escrow licensing where required and collaborate with technical teams on product enhancements.

Nice to have

• Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish.
• Non-traditional or transferable experience related to the role.
