Principal Product Manager, Platform Engineering

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 states, with limited exceptions.

Base salary: $178,300–$284,700 annually in California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC; $169,300–$270,500 annually in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia. Equity awards may also apply.

What you will do

• Own the product strategy for Platform Engineering’s portfolio across compute, runtime, networking, databases, identity, secrets, and delivery tooling.
• Define golden paths and self-service, API-first experiences that help engineers build and deploy efficiently.
• Drive adoption and migration across thousands of services using defaults, deprecation paths, and enablement mechanisms.
• Define how applications and AI agents consume platform capabilities, including deterministic workflows and human approval points.
• Establish platform success metrics covering adoption, onboarding time, satisfaction, customer outcomes, cost, and value.
• Partner with six engineering teams and adjacent Data Platform, Developer Experience, and Security organizations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience, including substantial experience with internal platforms, infrastructure, or developer tooling.
• Experience owning a platform portfolio with multiple interdependent capabilities, customers, maturity levels, and lifecycles.
• Strong technical fluency in cloud infrastructure and distributed systems, including compute, container orchestration, networking, databases, identity, secrets, and CI/CD.
• Proven success driving adoption of platform standards and leading complex migrations, including retiring replaced systems.
• Ability to structure ambiguous, cross-functional infrastructure initiatives and communicate clearly with engineering and executive stakeholders.
• Experience designing platform capabilities for AI agents, including workflow verification and human approval requirements.
