Principal Product Manager (AI)

Location: Remote, must be located in the Chicago area; onsite interviews may be required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $175,800–$219,750 base salary per year, with potential bonus and/or equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Own the product vision and roadmap for strategic, complex Dealer Inspire platform initiatives.
• Define priorities and trade-offs that balance dealer value, business impact, risk, and long-term platform goals.
• Lead cross-platform initiatives with Cars.com, AccuTrade, D2C Media, and other business units.
• Shape AI product strategy and guide the development of LLM-powered, generative, and predictive capabilities.
• Partner with engineering leadership on technical execution, architecture discussions, and delivery decisions.
• Coach the Dealer Inspire product team and communicate progress, outcomes, and opportunities to senior leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience delivering outcomes in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Experience with B2B SaaS, ecommerce, scalable website platforms, and significant platform evolution or product transitions.
• Shipped AI-powered product features and experience with AI/LLM product strategy, technical evaluation, and trade-off analysis.
• Ability to align multiple teams, business units, and partners across complex cross-platform initiatives.
• Strong executive communication, storytelling, analytical, experimentation, and customer research skills.
• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• MBA or another advanced degree.
• Experience in automotive technology, dealer operations, digital retailing, or financing.
• Software engineering or technical product experience.
• Experience in a multi-brand or platform ecosystem.
