AI Software Engineer

Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States. U.S. Person status is required; applicants must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, Asylee, or Refugee.

Salary: $95,000–$139,700 annually for the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Other states may have different geographic pay ranges.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-native software products that transform large-scale geospatial data into actionable intelligence.
• Implement multi-agent workflows using Google ADK, LangChain, LangGraph, and related orchestration frameworks.
• Integrate large language models such as GPT-4, Claude, and Gemini for contextual analysis, hypothesis generation, and adaptive decision-making.
• Build agents with dynamic tool use, structured reasoning, self-refinement, feedback loops, and reinforcement mechanisms.
• Develop data ingestion and transformation layers for pattern-of-life detection, anomaly identification, and predictive analytics.
• Deploy and operate secure, scalable AI systems using containerization, orchestration, CI/CD, and cloud integrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• U.S. citizenship or other qualifying U.S. Person status is required.
• At least 7 years of relevant technology experience, preferably in software engineering and AI/ML.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based data and machine learning pipelines, including AWS or GCP.
• Significant software development experience with Python, JavaScript, or a similar language.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with remote or geographically distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation architectures.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and high-availability architectures for global-scale workloads.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate prototyping, implementation, testing, and documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
