Senior Embedded Platform Engineer (Quantum Computing)

Location: Boulder, Colorado, United States; hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the Boulder office

Base salary: $165,000–$200,000 per year, plus annual bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Design OTA update and configuration procedures for embedded systems.
• Develop automated management processes for embedded devices, including RF subsystems, lasers, and cameras.
• Design security primitives for on-premise hardware and embedded devices in collaboration with security specialists.
• Build monitoring, alerting, and performance-metrics systems for development and production environments.
• Streamline CI/CD pipelines and improve deployment efficiency with engineering teams.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of post-degree experience maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
• Familiarity with high-performance embedded-system form factors and interconnect standards such as MicroTCA, VPX/OpenVPX, ATCA, CompactPCI Serial, or PXIe.
• Experience managing on-premise hardware services, virtualization, and containerization with tools such as Proxmox VE, Docker, and Podman.
• Experience with OTA updates, firmware deployment, secure device-update protocols, Yocto Linux, kernel modules, or device drivers.
• Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, performance tuning, and observability tools including GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Kubernetes, Datadog, or Grafana.
