Principal Architect, Manufacturing Security (OT Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote in Europe; based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with approximately 10% regional and international travel.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the enterprise OT security architecture blueprint across 15+ operating companies and 160+ sites.
• Define network segmentation standards, ISA-95/Purdue security zones, IT/OT boundary controls, industrial DMZ patterns, and BMS isolation strategies.
• Lead adoption of secure remote access architecture, including zero-trust network access for OEMs, contractors, and remote support vendors.
• Develop OT cybersecurity policies, architecture governance standards, and control frameworks for operating-company implementation.
• Drive the Architecture Review Board process for micro-segmentation, OT remote access, monitoring tools, and industrial firewall platforms.
• Advise operating-company CIOs, site IT leads, and plant engineers on high-risk sites and segmentation remediation.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in OT/ICS network architecture, Purdue Model/ISA-95 segmentation, industrial DMZ design, OT firewall policies, and secure remote access.
• Hands-on experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, BMS, HMI, and historian environments in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, CIS Controls for ICS, and CISA/NSA OT security guidance.
• Experience with ZTNA and SASE architectures, including Zscaler or equivalent, industrial remote access protocols, vendor workflows, and identity governance.
• At least 12 years of experience in OT/ICS security, network architecture, or industrial cybersecurity, including 5 years in a principal architect, distinguished engineer, or equivalent senior IC role.

Nice to have

• Experience advising multiple operating companies with independent OT environments, IT governance structures, and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with Elisity, Claroty, Dragos, Nozomi Networks, or Armis.
• Experience presenting OT architecture decisions to C-suite and board-level audiences.
