Location: San Jose, CA, United States; onsite work with 10% travel

Salary: $138,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Define concepts and configurations for novel inspection and metrology systems.
• Design and engineer modules and sub-modules, qualify them, and analyze data from advanced substrate technologies.
• Develop new or modified inspection and metrology systems and support physics-related application and system issues in laboratory and field environments.
• Define system requirements, troubleshoot system problems, and advise on physics-related application issues.
• Plan technology evaluations, feasibility studies, demonstrations, and performance analyses to support product risk and development decisions.
• Participate in vendor selection and customer engagements while guiding less experienced physicists and scientists.

Requirements

• Conceptual and practical expertise in physics or a related discipline.
• Ability to design statistically valid experiments and collect, analyze, and interpret data.
• Experience defining system requirements, specifications, and new technical concepts.
• Ability to solve complex problems and evaluate multiple sources of information.
• Ability to explain difficult information, build consensus, and contribute to small projects.
• Willingness to travel 10% of the time; relocation eligibility is not provided.
