Mechanical Engineering Intern (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, California; fully on-site at the Playa Vista office

Compensation: $45 per hour

What you will do

• Contribute to the development of Comet XL and Comet Mini deployable structures.
• Design and develop spacecraft hardware using CAD in NX.
• Build and test hardware, including electromechanical systems and soft goods.
• Own an internship project with real impact while collaborating with the broader engineering team.
• Participate in aerospace learning sessions with guidance from a dedicated mentor.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in an engineering-related field.
• Graduating in Spring or Fall 2027.
• Extensive experience with CAD, specifically NX.
• Prior hands-on experience building hardware, especially electromechanical systems and soft goods.
• Available to work fully on-site in Los Angeles during standard business hours.
• Available to begin as soon as possible in Fall 2026.
