Aerospace Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States. Onsite work in laboratory or workshop environments may involve loud noise or hazardous conditions; travel may be required. U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

What you will do

• Contribute to technical projects and complete assigned engineering tasks.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret technical data to support engineering decisions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and records.
• Attend planning meetings to understand project requirements, timelines, and team objectives.
• Perform hands-on technical work and support process improvements and best practices.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers through mentorship, workshops, and ongoing project work.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a university, college, or technical school pursuing engineering, computer science, or a related technical degree.
• Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with at least six months remaining until graduation after the internship ends.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and collaboration skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods, handle tools and technical equipment, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

Nice to have

• Previous technical or engineering internship or work experience.
• Familiarity with the aerospace and defense industry.
• Basic knowledge of CAD or MATLAB.
• Microsoft Access skills.
