What you will do

  • Support aircraft structural design engineering for production and in-service aircraft.
  • Create design data sets including 3D models, 2D drawings, bills of material, and change notes.
  • Perform detail part modeling, sizing, layout maturation, and structural trade studies.
  • Support weight reduction, certification, modification, repair, and in-service activities.
  • Apply classical and finite element stress analysis methods to metallic and composite aircraft components.
  • Communicate technical issues, solutions, ideas, and work status to supervisors and relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Currently local to the Wichita, Kansas metro area and able to work onsite.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of static analysis, mechanics of materials, airframe design, finite element methods, and design principles.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, technical procedures, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship; effective written and verbal English communication required.

Nice to have

  • Minor in Computer Science.
  • Airbus engineering experience.
  • Experience with airframe design, MRB, CATIA, Isami, NASTRAN, or PATRAN.
  • Exposure to CAD applications and structural analysis coursework.
