Long-Term Internship - Engineering (Aerospace)

Location: Wichita, KS metro area; multi-semester onsite work opportunity

Work arrangement: Full-time onsite unless otherwise approved by management and human resources

hirify.global develops and supports aircraft and aerospace systems, including production and in-service aircraft.

What you will do

• Support aircraft structural design engineering activities for production and in-service aircraft.
• Develop design data sets, including 3D models, 2D drawings, bills of material, and change notes.
• Perform detail part modeling, sizing, layout maturation, trade studies, and weight-reduction activities.
• Support aircraft modifications, repairs, certification activities, and in-service engineering.
• Apply classical and finite element stress analysis methods to metallic and composite airframe components.
• Communicate technical issues, solutions, ideas, and work status to supervisors and internal or external contacts.

Requirements

• Must be a current Wichita, KS metro-area student available for onsite, multi-semester work.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Knowledge of airframe design, static analysis, mechanics of materials, or a CAD application.
• Basic knowledge of classical and numerical finite element stress analysis and engineering design principles.
• Ability to interpret technical procedures, engineering drawings, and bill of material systems.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Minor in Computer Science.
• Previous hirify.global engineering experience.
• Experience with airframe design, MRB, CATIA, Isami, NASTRAN, or PATRAN.
• Google Workspace experience in addition to Microsoft Office proficiency.
