Critical Environments Operator IV (Data Center Operations)

Location: Onsite in Sterling, VA, United States; availability for 24/7/365 work, emergency corrective maintenance, and extended onsite hours during emergencies is required.

What you will do

• Complete assigned operations and maintenance activities across data center and other assigned facility spaces.
• Use and teach others to use the computerized maintenance management system to track work orders, labor hours, preventive maintenance, and reactive work.
• Apply SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and MMRs during site operations and maintenance.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors to complete maintenance and project work safely and effectively.
• Respond to building system alarms, protect the critical load, minimize equipment damage, and participate in root cause analysis.
• Perform critical switching, lockout/tagout, safe work-area setup, equipment modifications, and workmanship checks.

Requirements

• Journeyman-level electrical, mechanical, and HVAC/R skills gained through an associate degree, technical training, or facility maintenance experience.
• 7–10 years of experience in Tier 2, Tier 3, or Tier 4 data centers, operations and maintenance, or building engineering.
• Experience with work order control, computerized maintenance management systems, subcontractor and vendor contract management, capacity planning, and KPI reporting.
• Ability to use hand tools, test equipment, personal computers, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to respond to equipment alarms, troubleshoot systems through graphical user interfaces, and stabilize operations until OEM technicians arrive.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, learning, and workload-management skills.
