TL;DR
Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and certifying embedded C/C++ software and firmware for aerospace sensing products with an accent on sensor calibration, real-time processing, mixed-signal hardware control, and safety-critical standards. Focus on leading software architecture, integrating SCADE-generated code, analyzing requirements and structural coverage, debugging hardware/software interactions, and supporting DO-178C certification.

Location: Lynnwood, Washington, United States; onsite at the Lynnwood facility.

Salary: $132,548.90–$162,437.40 per year; some roles may include performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize embedded C/C++ software and firmware for sensing products.
  • Implement signal conditioning, sensor calibration, filtering, data acquisition, and mixed-signal hardware control.
  • Lead software architecture, integration, verification, peer reviews, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Build and integrate SCADE model-based designs and support auto-generated code workflows.
  • Analyze requirements and traceability in IBM DOORS, manage configuration and change control in IBM EWM, and perform LDRA/TQD structural coverage analysis.
  • Debug hardware/software interactions, support DO-178C certification activities, collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams, and mentor early-career engineers.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of embedded software development experience in a real-time or safety-critical environment.
  • BA or BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong embedded C and C++ experience, including communication interfaces such as ARINC 429, RS-232, CAN, or AFDX.
  • Experience with DO-178C or similar safety-critical standards, requirements analysis, model-based development, debugging, and structural coverage analysis.
  • Experience with Python or DXL scripting and tools including IBM DOORS, IBM EWM, SCADE, and LDRA.
  • Only US Persons may be considered where access to Controlled Data or Information is required under ITAR.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated safety-critical industries.
  • Experience with sensor technologies, Adobe FrameMaker, Assembly, ADA, DO-178C audits, or certification processes.
